A mysterious fragment suspended over misty mountains and a distant keep.

Fragments
of the Fallen.

Old catastrophes cast long shadows over the northern roads, where fallen stars and strange disturbances draw the attention of a scholar in Everlund. A silver-ink invitation from Elaris Vaunthel brings you to the city with the promise of a purpose worth pursuing. He suspects that scattered fragments of something extraordinary lie behind places where ordinary life has begun to behave strangely. Your first lead is an abandoned tavern in the Moonwood—and a prophecy that calls for the sundered light to be gathered.

II · A call to Everlund

An invitation
in silver ink.

Elaris Vaunthel
Scholar · Moongleam Tower, Everlund

Dear Adventure,

Your name was given to me by a trusted source, who spoke well of your courage and judgment. I hope you will forgive the unexpected invitation.

I ask that you come to Everlund and meet me at Moongleam Tower. I have found troubling signs that old wounds in our world are stirring once more. I fear its fate may be in peril, and this is work I cannot undertake alone.

I need those willing to look closely, act with care, and help where others might turn away. If you are willing, I will explain what I know when we meet. Lodging will be arranged, and your journey will not go unrewarded.

I would be grateful for your help.

III · The first request

Beyond the
familiar road.

A wise scholar. A welcoming friend. A request that takes you beyond the familiar road.

In Everlund, Elaris Vaunthel is known as a wise elven scholar and wizard: friendly, helpful, and careful in both his words and his work. Those who know him regard him as trustworthy—a patient listener who offers thoughtful counsel and takes the troubles of others seriously.

Elaris Vaunthel has invited you to Everlund. Behind Moongleam Tower, he welcomes those willing to investigate the troubling signs he has been studying: old catastrophes, fallen stars, celestial disturbances, and places where the ordinary has become unsettling.

His first request leads northwest, into the Moonwood, to the Silent Coin Tavern—once a bustling stop well known among traders, but abandoned years ago. Its location has faded from memory for most, yet Elaris has heard troubling rumors from hunters who have recently passed through the area. The woods around it have become unsafe, and traders are said to have vanished nearby. Most now avoid the old route altogether, afraid that they, too, might never return.

Elaris believes something rests within or beneath the tavern—perhaps a fragment, perhaps a relic touched by one. He asks you to investigate what is happening and help recover the dangerous object if you find it.

At dawn, the road awaits.

Lodging at Moongleam Tower. A carriage arranged for the journey. Beyond that, the first steps belong to you.

Gather the sundered light.

Elaris offers these words as a guide to the fragments—and to the work he asks you to begin.

When the wound of the world yet bleeds,
and broken stars stir beneath mortal hands,
gather the sundered light.

Let claw, wing, heart, and crown be made one.
Let the scattered divine remember its shape.
Let the hand of wisdom bind what fear once broke.

For only the whole may heal the wound,
and only the bound may wake without ruin.
